Charles STAGGS, who had been a farmer the greater number of his 81 years died early Wednesday afternoon. Charlie also had spent his entire life as a resident of Parke County where he was born, and at the time of his death was farming near the little community of Byron. He was born Feb 4, 1871, the son of Abraham and Rachel Allgood Staggs. On July 29, 1948, he was married at Terre Haute to Margaret PEARSON. Surviving besides the widow are 3 brothers: William of Lebanon; Jesse of Waveland and twin brother George of Bockow, Missouri; two sisters, Mrs. Martha DELP of Montezuma and Mrs. Arphelia MYERS of Russell, Minnesota and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 at the Machledt & Servies Funeral Home where friends may call. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery near Marshall.
